Change your Resource Management account owner

You must be a Resourcing Admin to change the account owner or to become an account owner.

Find out if this capability is included in Smartsheet Regions or Smartsheet Gov.

The account owner is the primary contact with Smartsheet and receives updates and alerts from Smartsheet. There can only be one account owner, and that user must also have Resourcing Admin permissions. The Account Owner is responsible for setting up the account.

It is best practice to have more than one Resourcing Admin. 

Check permissions for the new owner

The new account owner must be a licensed Resourcing Administrator.

  1. Open Account Settings.
    1. If you are working in Resource Management in Smartsheet, select the kebab menu in the top right corner, then select Account Settings.
    2. If you are working in standalone Resource Management, select SettingsAccount Settings.
  2. Select People from the left menu. 
  3. Find or invite the person you want to set as the new owner. If they are not a Resourcing Administrator, select the role dropdown and then select Resourcing Administrator
  4. Select Save. 

Change the Account Owner

  1. Open Account Settings
  2. In the General section, under Account Owner, select a new owner from the dropdown. 
  3. At the bottom of the screen, select Save.
